Vos missions

  • The position is available on the level of a tenured full professor’s position. In case of a more junior candidate, application for a tenure-track assistant professor’s position is also encouraged. In both cases, the position is going to be equipped with funding for two PhD students
  • The successful candidate will develop an internationally recognized competitive research program sustained by external funding
  • The University of Fribourg is bilingual, French and German. The teaching load is in general 6 hours per week and involves courses in English as well as in French or German. Administrative languages are German and French

Profil souhaité

  • Qualified applicants must have an outstanding track record of independent research in a field of Machine Learning with strong potential for applications, such as (but not limited to): reinforcement learning, explainable AI, open AI, sustainable AI, hybrid AI, Natural Language Processing
  • The successful candidate has a doctoral degree in the field, a high-quality publication record in relevant international, peer-reviewed journals and conferences and relevant teaching experience
  • Teaching experience at university level is expected
  • The ideal candidate is expected to speak French or German, or otherwise is willing to acquire the necessary language skills within a reasonable period
