Ihre Aufgaben
- The candidate is expected to develop an internationally recognized research program, supported by a significant amount of external funding. Collaboration with other groups of the department and the faculty is encouraged. The integration of the candidate within the department is an important selection criterion
- The future appointee will participate actively in teaching to undergraduate and graduate students from the Department of Mathematics as well as from other departments of the Faculty of Science and Medicine. The nominal teaching load is of 6 weekly hours (each hour corresponds to 45min of actual teaching and 15min break), four of which are dedicated to mandatory undergraduate courses. The future appointee is expected to participate in the teaching of the first two years of either the Analysis or Algebra-Geometry-Topology modules
- The candidate should be able to teach in English as well as, at the Bachelor level, in one or both of the official languages of the University, French or German (after an appropriate adaptation period if necessary)
Gewünschtes Profil
- The selected candidate must have an outstanding record of successful independent research in a field of mathematics with strong potential for applications, such as (but not limited to): PDE, dynamics, optimization, discrete mathematics and algorithms, mathematical aspects of machine learning, mathematical data analysis, mathematical statistics, inverse problems, applied algebra
- The candidate is expected to develop an internationally recognized research program, supported by a significant amount of external funding.
